  Westminster finished third at the nine-hole match at Cedar Ridge.

 Greyson Lauderdale was the low man for the Wildcats with a 55. Hunter Plott and Shane Nelson carded 58's, and Riley Holmes and Cooper Crippen were in the house at 61 and 66, respectively.

WCA girls played Madison Academy and Catholic Pope John Paul II at Sunset Landing. WCA seventh-graders Olivia Canup and Michaela Gooch each shot 65 for nine holes. Sophomore Amber Newman had 66.

Madison Academy boys narrowly defeated Pope John Paul II by two strokes, 204-206, at Valley Hill Country Club.  Westminster Christian Academy finished third with a score of 224.  Co-Medalists were Patrick Shanahan of PJP II and Stephen Cole of Madison Academy.  Both players shot a 47.

On the girls side, Kirby Lockard of Pope John Paul II shot a 47 to finish 1st, followed by Syndey Nix of Madison Academy and Amber Newman of Westminster Christian Academy.

   Apr. 23  Madison Academy     Sunset    Landing  TBA  Madison Academy defeated Westminster 192 to 211 on a cool and very windy day at Sunset Landing. The nine-hole round had Hunter Plott leading WCA with a 49. Shane Nelson scored 51, Greyson Lauderdale 57 and Matt Kuenzli 60. For Madison Academy, Stephen Cole was medalist with 42. Bennett Parker scored 43, Brock Kiel 53 and Nathaniel Cox 54.

Mars Hill won with a 166. Decatur Heritage was at 167 and WCA 222. Medalist was Spencer Parker of Decatur Heritage with 37 for the nine holes.

Decatur Heritage defeated Westminster 173-206 on Thursday at Southern Gayles. Two sets of brothers scored for the Eagles. Jack Francis was medalist with 42 for the nine holes, and Evan Francis scored 43. Jackson and Spencer Parker each carded a 44. For Westminster, Hunter Plott led with a 48, followed by Cooper Crippen at 50, Greyson Lauderdale 53, and Shane Nelson 55. Southern Gayles will host sectional competition, which will be for 18 holes, next Tuesday morning.

Medalist was Michael Peter of Shoals Christian at 70.

Top four teams plus individual qualifiers advance to sub-state at Huntsville Municipal on Monday.
